Dr. Andrew Weil M.D., lists 7 strategies of successful cancer patients.
1. Do not take "no" for an answer.
2. Actively search for help.
3. Seek out others who have been healed.
4. Form constructive partnerships with heath professionals.
5. Do not hesitate to make radical life changes.
6. Regard illness as an opportunity to grow.
7. Cultivate self acceptance
How does one decide to use conventional medicine or alternative medicine?
Dr. Andrew Weil states it clearly, "Insurance companies dictate how medicine is practiced by
their policies of reimbursement". Unfortunately this means we often have to pay for alternative
cancer therapy. Conventional medical therapy is paid for by insurance companies. Doctors will
automatically suggest conventional cancer therapy, as they know the bills will be paid.
The problem is obvious! Are we willing to choose successful cancer therapy, which is
alternative medicine, and are we able to pay for successful cancer therapy? If we or our
loved ones choose to be cancer survivors, we need to figure out how to say yes to alternative medicine
Should medical care be based on politics or science?
On July 3, 1946 Raymond Gram Swing, the 30 year veteran radio broadcaster at ABC
announced to the nation that for the first time in history a "cure for cancer had been found".
The announcement was based on the life's work of Dr. Max Gerson who was in Washington DC.
testifying before the Senate Committee on July 1st, 2nd, and 3rd concerning cancer cures.
The Senate was extremely impressed with the scientific findings as well as the cured cancer
patients who also testified. The Pepper-Nealy Anti-Cancer Bill of 1946 was the result of the
Senate hearings. The phones rang off the hook at ABC, as interested parties sought out more
information to this dreaded disease. What happened next, you may ask? Unfortunately politics
took over. Suddenly after 30 years of prominent service Raymond Gram Swing was fired, just
two weeks after his historic national radio broadcast of the cure to cancer. Our treatment
of cancer would continue to be the orthodox and conventional medical approach. There would be
no alternative medicine. The pharmaceutical interests ruled the day and the status-quo remained.
Cancer would continue to be treated with surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy.
